Stitched up

Hey Stampers!  I am loving the Stitched Shapes Framelits!  I received a gorgeous card from my good friend and decided to CASE the design.  Hers is much prettier, but you get the idea.  I wouldn't have thought of using multiple shapes on a card.  Thank you, Marlene!

Marlene's beautiful card:

My card (using Stitched Shapes, Dragonfly Dreams from Occasions 2017 catalog, White Perfect Accents):

The Stitched Shapes Framelits are no longer available until the spring catalog comes out.  I would recommend being first on the list when they do, because they flew off the shelves!!  They're so versatile and I love the dimension it adds.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope to be posting regularly soon.

Wait until you see the gorgeous new products in Occasions and Sale-a-Bration!  If you don't work with a demonstrator, feel free to contact me for a catalog.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Grateful

This is for a Thanksgiving challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations.  I made this 3D project for my World Card Making Day event in Atlanta (see previous post).  I simply took a piece of Stampin' Up! Petals & Paisleys dsp and wrapped a large Ghiradelli bar.  It killed me not to eat it!  It was Sea Salt Caramel flavor.  YUM!

I stamped the flower from Paisleys and Posies and then a sentiment from the October Paper Pumpkin kit. I created a flower of sorts from the Paisleys framelits.  I cut six and just put a glue dot on each to hold them down.  I wrapped ribbon around the long way to keep the bar in place.  The ribbon is part of a trio from the holiday catalog.  It coordinates with the Petals & Paisleys.

I thought it would be nice to have these on the table for Thanksgiving.  Why don't you go over to Scrap-Creations and play along?!  Please let me know what you think before you take off!

Atlanta

Ahh, poor neglected blog.  I'm so sorry!  My life has been crazy over the last month or so!  Where to begin.....I think it all started just before my trip to Atlanta.

I was going to Stampin' Up!'s On Stage event.  The day before, I went to a World Cardmaking Event put on by Brian King and Pam Morris.  I had to make 51 swap cards.  I started designing card after card, and it took me forever to decide which one to use. For those of you who know me, I don't have a huge amount of confidence.  I was completely stressed until I finally made my mind up. Then I had to create them and also a 3-D project for the same event.

For the card, I ended up using Tip Top Taupe for a base, a strip of Flirty Flamingo, a panel of Shimmery White mounted on Peekaboo Peach.  I wet the Shimmery White with an Aqua Painter, then took ink from the lid of the stamp pad with the Aqua Painter, and painted it in the three colors.  I really watered down the Tip Top Taupe.  When they were dry, I stamped three trees from Totally Trees and a sentiment from Flourishing Phrases, all in Tip Top Taupe.

My trip was amazing!  I got to meet a lot of online friends finally.  I've known some for about 3 years.  My roommate made the trip a lot of fun!  I came home with a boat load of goodies from my friend and from the events.  I can't wait to show you the new Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs! They are amazing!!  My box of pre-order goodies should be arriving tomorrow.  Here is all I can share for now.  Stay tuned!  And please let me know if you'd like to be added to my catalog mailing list.  If you're not working with another demonstrator, I'd be happy to send you one.

Sympathy for a friend

I made this sympathy for a friend who lost her husband.  I truly don't like making sympathy cards because my heart breaks for the person who has lost a loved one, especially at a young age.  I sat down at my desk to stamp the other day and had the striped piece of Envelope Paper left over.  I decided to pair it with the Blushing Bride die cut flowers from Sunshine Wishes.  I thought it was soft enough for a sympathy card and I wanted to add to my stash, so I added Smoky Slate and embossed the sentiment from Cottage Greetings and finished with a White Perfect Accent.. I saw the sad news on Facebook the next day.  I was relieved that my card was made and ready to send.  It makes it a whole lot easier.   Let me know if I can answer any questions. Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Pumpkin Alternative

Hi Stampers!  I finally opened my Paper Pumpkin for October last night.  I have to say, this is one of my all time favorites!  I decided to add a panel of Cajun Craze to the card.  I inked up the Woodland Embossing Folder on the Sizzix side with Chocolate Chip.  Then I ran it through the Big Shot.  I love how it gives depth to the trees.  I took the precut leaves from the kit and inked them with the three colors - Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon.  Then I used the Layering Ovals for the sentiment.  I really love the fall sequins in this kit!

If you don't know what Paper Pumpkin is or have never tried it, you really should.  It's a box of goodies you receive each month for about $20.  You can go month to month or buy a prepaid subscription to save some money.  The kit comes with everything you need to create the project with the exception of scissors and adhesive.  It comes with an exclusive stamp set, ink spot, glue dots, papers, envelopes, etc. The month-to-month is here:  PAPER PUMPKIN  If you'd rather buy a prepaid subscription (1, 3, 6 and 12 months), you can add it to a regular Stampin' Up! order here:  Prepaid Paper Pumpkin

If I can answer any questions, please let me know!  You can purchase any of the items mentioned by clicking on the words, or you can shop 24/7 by clicking the flower to the right.

Mr. Moose

I am in love with Mr, Moose.  Isn't he adorable?!  He is part of the Jolly Friends bundle from the Stampin' Up! holiday catalog.

I started with a base of crumb cake, adhered a 4x5.25 panel of Warmth and Wonder dsp (just around the edges).  Then I cut out an oval with the Layering Ovals  framelits.  I put the two pieces aside for another card.  I stamped Mr. Moose in Early Espresso and used a blender pen on his antlers and gave him some roses cheeks.  The hat was punched out of dsp and whisper white.  He scarf was stamped on dsp and cut out.  I adhered both to the edge of the oval, stamped the sentiment and tied some holiday twine around it and popped up with Dimensionals.  I hope you like it!  Let me know if you have questions.  You can purchase these items in my store by clicking on the flower to the right. Thanks for stopping by!

This fabulous combination is by the talented Shawn de Oliveira.  I thought it would be a tough one even though I love all three colors.  Well, let's just say I ran short on time and I had to make it easy!  I really love the colors together and I'll use this again.

I used the Paisleys and Posies stamp set and added a few enamel dots.  I am beginning to love this set!  It makes for a fast and simple card.   Thanks so much for stopping by!

Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Halloween

Hi Stampers!  Sorry I've been MIA.  I've been crazy busy and I've been working on 51 cards for a Stampin' Up! Event swap.  I decided to use the Jar of Haunts for the Halloween challenge at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations.

These jars are so much fun!  I had the mummy sitting on my table from a previous project and decided to use it up.  I started off with a "wood "shelf in Soft Suede.  You can't see it that well but the eyeball jar is colored with Rich Razzleberry and then clear Wink of Stella.  I used Enamel Shapes in Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie.  I hope you like it!  Why don't you join us in this fun challenge?!

If you'd like to order any of these products, just click on the flower to the right!

This color challenge is by the talented Rae Harper for Pals Paper Arts.  I love the rich look of this combination and it forces me to use Elegant Eggplant.  I never use purple for some reason!  I decided to do some pretty fall leaves using Sheltering Tree. I inked my stamp up with sponge daubers with the three colors and then misted and stamped on watercolor paper.   Thanks for stopping by!

Huge Congrats

Hi Stampers!  I made this card for my amazing upline, Mary Fish.  She just hit one million dollars in Stampin' Up! sales!  She is incredible!  A huge congrats to Mary!

I knew I wanted to use the Petals & Paisleys designer series paper so that I could use my new copper embossing powder.  The sentiment is a font I love from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.  I know that Mary has a passion for pretty fonts!  I cut a frame from the Lots of Labels framelits in Rich Razzleberry and then the sentiment piece from the larger die and adhered.  I was stuck for a small embellishment when I remembered that I received a package from Stampin' Up! which included the Paisleys & Posies bundle.  I stamped the leaf several times in Delightful Dijon and then ran it through the Big Shot.  I added a metallic enamel shape.  I'm in love with those things!!  The ribbon is part of a trio from the holiday catalog.  Please let me know what you think.  Thanks for stopping by!

All of the above mentioned products can be purchased from my online store 24/7.  Just click on the product name, or the flower to the right.  Don't hesitate to ask if you have questions!

PPA317

This color combination for the Pals Paper Arts is by yours truly!  I wanted to come up with a fall combination since mine was in September.  It reminds me of our pretty fall leaves.  I am very fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful places in the country during the fall.  I can't wait for the leaves to start turning!

I started off with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock.  I heat embossed with White Stampin' Embossing Powder, and then sponged the three colors randomly, overlapping a bit each time.  When I was done, I wiped off the white leaves with a tissue.  I popped the sentiment on a die cut from Swirly Scribbles.  The leaves are stamped and die cut from the Thoughtful Branches bundle.  The ribbon is from the brand new holiday catalog.  I hope you like this combination, and you'll play along with us!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you had a nice Labor Day Weekend!

Hello

Hi Stampers!  I made this for my stepsister who is going through cancer treatments.  I was told that she loves my cards and has them lined up in her office.  I got nervous when I started making another. I can't remember what I've sent and didn't want to duplicate!  She likes very muted colors so I decided to go a little brighter, knowing I haven't done that before.

I had a panel of watercolor paper on my desk and decided to use it.  This was made with an aqua painter.  I wet the paper, then dip my aqua painter in the well of the ink pad and paint it on.  (I think my last three posts were using this technique because I love how easy it is!).

I used Emerald Envy for ink and the base.  I decided to pair it with Flirty Flamingo and cut a flower with Sunshine Wishes framelits.  I couldn't come up with a third color so I decided to add the burlap strip last minute.

Thanks for stopping by.  You can order any of the products by clicking on the flower to the right. Please let me know if I can answer any questions!

This pretty color combination is for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge by the talented Michelle Gleeson. I'm so happy she chose them.  I've been in a bit of a rut lately using the same colors over and over!  Old Olive has been one of my favorites for a long time now and I love it paired with Dapper Denim and So Saffron.

I needed a card for my friend's mom who just had surgery.  I decided to use Aqua Painters on Watercolor paper (another thing I can't seem to get away from!).  I used Flourish Thinlits and a sentiment from the Watercolor Wishes Kit.  I hope she likes it!  Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment.

Back to School Challenge

Hi Stampers!  This is for the Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Back to School challenge.  I made this card for my granddaughter who is going into first grade.   I used some retired Stampin' Up! School House dsp, Star Framelits, and a sentiment from Be the Star, a retired stamp set.  I also used some retired ribbon in Daffodil Delight, and some new enamel stars in Garden Green.  I really love the enamel shapes!!

Thanks for stopping by!   Please let me know what you think, and head over to see the other amazing creations at Scrap-Creations!

These pretty colors from the talented Mary Fish are so refreshing!   They remind me of an ice cream I used to love as a kid.  It was some sort of Neopolitan or Harlequin ice cream with orange sherbet, coffee, and vanilla, but strawberry would have been a great addition!  It sounds like a weird combination, but the orange sherbet and coffee together were truly amazing!  I think it was made by a local company, Hood Ice Cream. If anyone remembers it, please comment! Anyway, on to my card!

I am trying to build my sympathy or "bad news" card stash.  I started with watercolor paper.  I embossed the trees from Thoughtful Branches in white. I then wet with Aqua Painters, and then dipped in each color with the Aqua Painter on the wet paper.  I stamped the sentiment from Greatest Greetings in black and mounted the pieces.  Easy peasy! Please let me know what you think, and thanks so much for stopping by!

The Thoughtful Branches set is only available through August 31, or while supplies last.  So if you would like to get it, I wouldn't wait!  It's really gorgeous and so versatile.

PPA311

I love the soft and pretty color combination by the talented Lynn Hoyt!  This is for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge.  I think it could be used for just about anything - baby, sympathy, birthday, get well, etc. I decided to make a thank you.  I used the beautiful new set called Thoughtful Branches which is only available from August 2-31, while supplies last.  I just had to have it!

I have to be honest...I had some glue smeared on my paper from when I put the hydrangea down.  I almost started over but saw someone on Pinterest who had cut flowers out and popped them.  That's what I chose to do and it did make the glue disappear!  I also added Wink of Stella pen to the flower.  The rest was easy. I used an Aqua Painter to watercolor some Marina Mist on the background.  I used Whisper White cardstock.  I decided to keep the embellishments on the sentiment piece.  I used a bit of Smoky Slate baker's twine and a heart from a retired punch in Marina Mist.  Easy peasy!  Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think!
