PPA 294

Here is my loose interpretation of the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge by Dawn Tidd.  I do love the sketch and I'd typically follow it to a T, however, I had this card on the brain before I sat down.

I needed to make a thank you and I was in the mood to use my Botanical Builder framelits.  I truly love these flowers.  They are so easy to layer and they have a WOW factor. I decided to create some interest by using Lots of Labels framelits for my sentiment piece.  The framelits, stamps and dsp can be found here:  Botanical Gardens Suite. I dug out some Paper Pumpkin stamps for the sentiment. The colors used are:  Mossy Meadow for ink and cardstock, Hello Honey cardstock, and Cajun Craze ink and cardstock.

And after posting, I realized that I forgot my dot in the middle of the big flower!  Ooops, too late.

Global Design Project #029

I saw this color combo for the Global Design Project and had to try it!  I stamped the cute bicycle from Sale-a-Bration, Pedal Pusher, in Early Espresso on Shimmery White cardstock, and colored in with blender pens.  The background is the Decorative Dots Textured Embossing Folder.  I used a sentiment from Greatest Greetings.  Love this font!!  I also stamped some "gravel" with Timeless Textures.  I tied some Linen Thread with the Bermuda Bay 1/8" stitched ribbon.  Please let me know what you think!

These pretty spring colors by Michelle Gleeson are for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge.  The first thing I thought of was a spring wreath.  I used the Circle of Spring stamp set and the Wonderful Wreath framelits, along with the Brick Textured Embossing Folder.  I inked up the folder with some So Saffron and sent it through the Big Shot to give it a bit of color.  The wreath was inked with Mossy Meadow and then colored in with blender pens and ink pads in the colors above. Thanks so much for stopping by.  You should go to Pals Paper Arts to see what the other design team created, or better yet, join us in the challenge!

WWYS 55 Balloon Celebration challenge

I saw this challenge on What Will You Stamp  #WWYS55 and I decided to play along.  I love this balloon set from Stampin' Up!  As a matter of fact, I love everything in this year's Occasions catalog!

I paired the Balloon Celebration set with Its My Party dsp, Baker's Twine, and enamel dots.  I sent the dsp through the Big Shot with the Confetti embossing folder. Thanks for stopping by!  I would really appreciate it if you leave me a comment.  Enjoy the weekend!

PPA 292

Don't laugh!  I would never choose this color combination but my son LOVES brown and purple and he is turning 30.  Yes, I feel old!  This sketch by Beth Beard was a bit of a challenge for me, but it was fun!  I wish I had dsp in Elegant Eggplant.  I ended up stamping the Happy randomly.  I know my son will love it because he's very artsy and loves textures and doesn't like everything perfectly straight.

I used the Number of Years bundle from the Occasions 2016 catalog.  This set is so versatile!  It can be used for birthday, anniversary, on a scrapbook layout, etc.  So happy I purchased it!  Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment!

New Found stamps!

I was searching for a quick thank you recently and decided to go through some Paper Pumpkin boxes in my closet (shhhhh, I haven't made them all yet, but I've made a few in each box).  Anyway, I found a card to use and below it was this cute stamp set that I completely forgot I had.  I urge you to separate the stamps from the boxes.  That's what I'm doing.  You'll get a lot of mileage out of them!  Please excuse the stains.  It means they are well loved.

I was about to cut a tag and then discovered a black one already cut in my Chalk Talk framelits package. Voila!  I pulled that out and went to work.  I inked up the Paper Pumpkin stamp in black and the "you" in Melon Mambo.  I put a couple of strips of Melon Mambo on the black and mounted the piece.  This ribbon is in the clearance section and the baker's twine is in the It's My Party suite in the Occasions 2016 catalog.  The Melon Mambo base was sent through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot textured embossing folder and I put a cut a strip of It's My Party dsp and flipped the little piece over.  Done!

If you don't know about Paper Pumpkin, it's a neat little monthly craft kit which is on sale right now!  It is typically around $20 a month.  Right now it is $55 for a prepaid three month subscription, and you get to choose a FREE item from the Sale-a-Bration catalog!  It's quite a deal.  These are great for beginners as well as seasoned stampers.  I enjoy opening up my orange box each month.  You can check it out here: Paper Pumpkin Deal.  Don't wait though.  This deal is only good until March 31st!  You can also check Pinterest to see what others have made with their kits.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment.  I do appreciate it!  Please let me know if you have questions about Paper Pumpkin!

Going Green with Scrap-Creations

Hi Stampers!  Here is my card for a GREEN challenge on Scrap-Creations.  I know someone whose birthday is very close to St. Paddy's Day so I made this for her.  I'm so excited to be a part of this design team!

I used the Birthday Blossoms set from Stampin' Up!  I simply colored with an Aqua Painter and the Cucumber Crush ink pad, ran the Cucumber Crush cardstock through the Elegant Dots embossing folder, and then added a strip of the envelope paper.  I also created a liner with the same paper using the envelope liner framelits.  Let me know what you think and if you have questions! Please check out the amazing DT cards at Going Grey With Scrap-Creations!  And join the challenge!!
Thanks for stopping by.

A Tee-riffic birthday

My sister-in-law's birthday was yesterday and she invited us over for dinner.  We had a fun time with family members from both sides.  She loves tea so I made her a pot with the Cups & Kettles framelits and Have a Cuppa dsp.

I cut the teapot out of the dsp and flipped the lid over for some added color.  I then stamped the teabag and cut it out using the dies.  I glued some whisper white bakers twine to the back and tucked it behind the teapot.  I thought a few pearls would be nice and got the idea of the steam coming out of the pot.  Let me know what you think!

The Have a Cuppa suite is available through May 31st, but if you make a  purchase of $50 or more before the end of March, you will get to choose a FREE stamp set  or paper through the Sale-a-Bration catalog! Click here to shop!  Occasions 2016

If you want to hear about the ultimate Stampin' Up! Bundle, please let me know.  It's a deal that's too good to pass up!

PPA 291

I really enjoyed playing along with the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge by Mary Fish!  These colors are so yummy!  Pool Party is probably my all-time favorite color.  The other two are at the top of my list too.

I used the Botanical Blooms stamp set and Botanical Builder Framelits for this.  I really love how easy it is to make a flower with this set! The sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes kit. You should check out all of the amazing cards posted by the design team!  Thanks for looking and leaving me a comment.  I truly appreciate it!

Check out the Watercolor Wishes kit.  It has everything you need in one box!  I truly love the sentiment stamps in this kit. Click to check it out further.

Global Design Project 026

I made a quick card for the Global Design Project..  This is for my husband's aunt who loves tea.  I used the Cups & Kettle framelits and the Nice Cuppa dsp. The melon mambo panel was embossed with the Elegant Dots Textured Embossing folder.  I found the banner piece in a stash of Paper Pumpkin leftovers.  I stamped it with the sentiment from the Something to Say set.  Thanks for stopping by!

Egg card

There is a cute egg card all over Pinterest.  I'm not sure where it originated so it's hard to give credit. This is my version.  I added the chick from Sale-a-Bration.  The egg was made with the Work of Art set.  I had to use a retired purple since my purples are practically non-existent!  The colors I used are:  Pool Party, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, and Lavender Lace (retired).

I cut the hole out with an oval die and put the panel through the Big Shot with the Elegant Dots Textured Embossing Folder.  I then stamped the colors with Work of Art and put the oval panel over it.  The chick was fussy cut and colored with blender pen and So Saffron ink.  I added a bit of Pumpkin Pie for the beak and Crushed Curry for the shading.

Then I cut a couple of banners.  I seriously could not live without this punch!!  Added a flower with a pearl and called it a day.

I hope you like my version.  Please let me know what you think!  And let me know if you have any questions I can answer.

PPA 290

I had fun playing with this fabulous sketch by Patti MacLeith, for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge!   I had to make another sad card, but I could easily change it to a happy one!

I used the Thoughts and Prayers set for this.  The paper was from Sale-a-Bration (wildflower fields).

Grateful Bunch Birthday

I had to ink up Grateful Bunch again.  This is so much fun to stamp!  It is in the Occasions 2016 catalog and will be available through May 31.  I used a sentiment from Rose Wonder, another gorgeous set!  The cardstock and inks are:  Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz.  I think I used Tangerine Tango for the butterfly.  I colored the flowers in with a blender pen and the ink on the cover of the pad.  Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment!  I love reading them.

Also, check out the weekly deals!  I might just have to cave on the Ornate Tag Topper punch and that tin of cards kit!
