PPA 193

Here's what I created for Pals Paper Arts Challenge 193.  I am not fond of this sketch at all (no offense, Nicole!).  It is pretty simple so I'm not sure why it was hard for me. It took me two tries!   The first was a baby card which I thought would be easy.  I ended up making another baby card.  The Pals Paper Arts team didn't seem to have too much trouble with this one. Go and check it out!

I finally got my Fresh Prints paper (132996) in and I'm so happy.  The prints are gorgeous! I ordered this from the Occasions Catalog. This was my most favorite Occasions catalog ever! There is still time to order from it.

On a personal note, I got good news today on my shoulder.  I don't need surgery at this point.  I do have to start physical therapy and if that doesn't help after three months, my ortho will consider surgery then.  Fingers crossed.  I was so worried I wouldn't be able to stamp for a while as it is my right shoulder.

Pixel Maven's PMDC-039 Color Challenge

I saw this color combo on Pixel Maven's blog and just had to participate!  I love this color combo (Pear Pizzazz, Crisp Cantelope and Pool Party).  It is so  me.  Ok, anything with Pool Party is good with me!  LOL

I used some of the new toys I got from the Occasions Catalog.  I've been dying to open up some of the boxes and stamp!  I finally felt good enough to play today after the stomach bug I got on Thursday night.  Thanks for looking and commenting!  As always, I apologize for the horrible photo.  I really need to learn how to take better photos.  My camera wasn't cooperating with my laptop earlier so I just used my iPad. ( just uploaded another, hopefully better!)

PPA 192

I made a card for Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge 192 but I didn't like it.  I was trying to make a new one on Thursday night but I got really sick with a stomach bug.  I just finished it now and that's because I forced myself to.  I am still weak and would love to be resting but felt I needed to get up and move.

The big difference between my first and second card was the papers.  I don't have a lot of masculine papers so I used an old pack of Soft Suede dsp.  It's ok but not that colorful.

I received a big box of stamping goodies the other day and I am dying to play with all of it!  I love this designer paper.  It has colors I like and it can be used for masculine or feminine cards.

I got a ton of freebies with Sale-a-Bration!  I think I got 4 stamp sets, a pack of beautiful dsp, an embellishment pack and the Petite Petals punch.  Oh, and how can I forget the Decorative Dots embossing folder!  Everyone loves that.  If you haven't already taken advantage of this sale, there is still time.  It runs through March 31 so don't miss out!

Paper Pumpkin Starter Kit

After seeing some sneak peeks at the cute February and March Paper Pumpkin kits, I decided to sign up.  I received my starter kit and went to work.

I decided to change the designs a little because I wanted a couple of different cards.  I needed a couple of thank yous and also a best wishes for someone who is leaving work.  She is young and colorful so I thought this would work.

I just wanted to show you that you can change the designs a bit and also step it up some, if you'd like.  I added twine to the button, changed the card color, changed buttons, changed the sentiment and added a piece of doily.  I changed it completely for the best wishes card.  I made a mistake on one of the yellow polka dot backgrounds so I cut it up into banners and went from there.  I also made an envelope insert with my Thinlits Envelope Liner.  These cards can be whipped up in a short time!

I hope you like what I created with this Paper Pumpkin kit!  I now understand why they always start you with this kit.  It comes with a D clear block.  It's a really nice block!  This is $8.50 in the catalog (item 118485 on page 196).  If you are interested in signing up for Paper Pumpkin, please check it out below and choose me, Michelle Quinno, as your demonstrator.  Thanks!  Oh, did I mention the free marker set worth $14.95 through March 31st?

PPA 191

This is what I came up with for Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge 191. Yikes, this was a tough one!  The first thing I thought of was St. Patrick's Day.  I wasn't even sure if I wanted to make one of those this year.  I typically make one for my mom and one for my good friend in MI.  I just wasn't in the mood!

Anyway, I  didn't have enough Gumball Green to make anything so I used Wild Wasabi.  The only reason I thought of it was because there was a little scrap of this dsp sitting on my desk.  I saw the green and orange and went with it.  I will give this to my youngest who will be turning 24 on Saturday.  The inside will say, Go Wild!  I don't need to tell him this, however.

I just placed an order and added Gumball Green cardstock and ink pad.  I love that color!  Can't wait to get my big box of goodies.  I got a lot of free items in the Sale-a-bration catalog!  You should check it out!

PPA 190

I made this for Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge 190.  I think I prefer sketch challenges but the color challenges do make me think outside the box sometimes.  I needed a sympathy card so I pulled out the colors and went to work.  I embossed the Gifts of Kindness stamp, but it's hard to see in the picture so I posted another at an angle.

I swear I never have enough sympathy cards.  Every time I make a small stash, I need to send out several at once.  I need to sit down some day and make ten!

Anyway, thanks for looking and commenting. I hope you will come and play along with us!
