Hello Gorgeous!

Hey Stampers!  I was trying to come up with an easy class card because my other three were more complicated.  I decided to pull out Beautiful You from the Occasions 2017 catalog.  I used some Sending Love dsp, also from the Occasions catalog, and I layered it on top of a Stitched Square and Oval and cut the sentiment banner with the Banner Triple Punch.  I wanted to keep the dress plain until I showed it to my friends.  I gave them the option of stamping it in Memento Black or adding Real Red to the image.  I think most of them stamped the red.  I like it both ways.  What do you think?  If I can find a photo of the image with red, I will update.  I finished it off with some metallic enamel shapes (LOVE them!!).

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment.  I love reading them!

Here is the filled in version with a different piece of dsp.

By the way, Sale-a-Bration is going to be over soon (sigh).  If you want the chance to pick a FREE item out of this catalog, you'd better hurry!  It ends on March 31.  Occasions will continue through May.

Paper Pumpkin is celebrating its 4th birthday!!  There will be a special celebration kit designed by Sara Douglass, CEO of Stampin' Up!  There's a gift inside this bold and sassy kit.  I cannot wait to see it!  Order March 11-April 10 for Sara's kit (see below for ordering info).

What is a Paper Pumpkin, you ask?!!  It is a monthly box of crafting goodies!  You've probably seen or  heard about the orange box that is around $20/month.  You get a clear block the first time you subscribe.  It always has an ink spot or two, embellishments, glue dots, an adorable mini stamp set, and some cut card or project pieces.  I enjoy having everything in one box.  I can take it on the go or do it in front of the t.v., or on my lunch break.

There are two ways to subscribe.  One is on a month-to-month basis.  If you decide to skip an month, you click the box and you will not get a kit that month.  You can cancel at any time.  The second way is a prepaid subscription. This is the best deal, especially during Sale-a-Bration.  The 3-month subscription is usually $59.  If you purchase it before the end of March, you will pay $55 and you will choose a FREE item in the Sale-a-Bration catalog!  Don't wait if you would like to try this out! Even if you are a subscriber, you can skip a month and enter the code for the three month subscription and then your regular subscription will continue at the end of the prepay.  If you have any questions, please let me know. Avant Garden

I wasn't quite sure where to begin with this pretty set called Avant Garden.  It was FREE in the Sale-a-Brations catalog.  All you have to do is make a qualifying purchase of $50 and you can choose an item free.

I decided I hadn't used pinks in a while.  I seem to get in a rut with the Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Mint Macaron colors.  I pulled out some Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo to see how they looked together.  The greens were easy - Old Olive regular and stamped off, and Pear Pizzazz.  These two colors are in my comfort zone.

I stamped the flowers and leaves and thought it looked a little too pinky.  I inked up the dots in the stamp set with Peekaboo Peach and that seemed to pull it together. I first used a base of Crumb Cake and then decided to try another version with Melon Mambo.  Let me know which one you prefer! I used Stylish Stems Framelits for the sentiment piece on the Crumb Cake version.

p.s.  Did you know there are NEW freebies in Sale-a-Bration?!!  They were just released yesterday.

Pals Blog Hop - February 2017

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for February 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are CASE’ing a project shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual, Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much inspiration from which to choose. We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

I decided to use Beautiful You from the Occasions 2017 catalog (page 24).  I started out with a base of Soft Sky with a panel of Falling in Love designer series paper.  It's a gorgeous package of paper! I stamped on Shimmery White cardstock and colored the image with inks and an Aqua Painter.  I then stamped the sentiment in Versamark on vellum paper and heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder.  I mounted the image on Blushing Bride and tucked a pretty doily under it, tied some Blushing Bride twine around it, and tucked the vellum piece behind.  I finished it off by splattering with a Gold Wink of Stella Pen.  I hope you like it!

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

January 2017 Paper Pumpkin

Hey Stampers!  I'm not so patiently waiting for my Paper Pumpkin January 2017 kit!  Yesterday's holiday messed up the mail but I was happy to have the day off.  I spent it with my 6-year old granddaughter.  It was great!  We spent time coloring, playing with her American Girl dolls, building Legos, and getting her a haircut.  She wasn't thrilled about the last part, but I treated her to a Coldstone Creamery ice cream and she was really happy!

I'm hoping my Paper Pumpkin kit comes today.  I'm also waiting on a LulaRoe order so it could be a very happy mail day (fingers crossed)!  I love receiving my monthly Paper Pumpkin.  It's a little box of crafty goodness that I look forward to.  It has everything you need in the box except for adhesive. Then after you are done with your project, you have a little Stampin' Spot ink pad and an adorable stamp set to use on something else.  Subscribers can also order a refill to make more of the project.

There are two ways to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin.  One is to sign up for a month-to-month subscription here:  PAPER PUMPKIN MONTHLY.  You can choose to skip or cancel (*gasp - why would you want to do that?!!).  When sign up, you will get a free clear block with your first kit.  Then you do nothing but wait for your adorable orange box.  The kit typically contains either a card kit with enough for 8, or a project kit which can vary.  This month is a Valentine's Day project.  It contains adorable treat bags you can give out to co-workers, family, etc.  I usually send a few over to another office.  They make my life easier and I make sure they know how much I appreciate it!

The second way you can subscribe is a prepaid subscription.  There is a 1-month, 3-month, 6 and 12-month subscription.  This is your best deal right now.  The 3-month is on sale for $55 and you get to choose a FREE item from the Sale-a-bration catalog!  Choose a 12-month subscription and you will qualify for FOUR FREE items and you will save $2 per month.  Subscribe through me and I will send you a FREE gift!  Let me know if I can answer any questions.

*If you are already a subscriber, the only reason you would want to skip your monthly subscription is to purchase the prepaid on sale.  This sale ends March 31.

It's too late to order the January Paper Pumpkin, but if you want to receive the February kit, subscribe by the 10th of the month.  Don't forget to choose the 3-month prepaid if you want a FREE Sale-A-Bration item!  You can see the video here:

Dragonflies

I'm in love with this new bundle in the Occasions 2017 catalog!  It's called Dragonfly Dreams.  It's very versatile.  I would use it for a birthday, get well, congrats, thank you, thinking of you card.

I made several of these cards at once.  First, I started with Whisper White cardstock and cut the dragonflies.  I stamped on another piece of Whisper White with the dots from the stamp set.  I used three colors - Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Perfect Plum, and then mounted it behind the dragonflies. I colored the dragonflies with the Wink of Stella pen but you can't see it in the photo.  I love the shimmery look!  I finished it off with some Metallic Enamel Shapes.

I decided to see what the dragonflies would look like in Pear Pizzazz on the white panel.  I liked the look even more!  The sentiment is from Sheltering Tree.  Let me know which is your preference.  And I will post a third on another day!

Hey Chick!

Hey Chick!  I am in love with this chick from Sale-a-Bration!  I've made at least six cards using this. I am holding off posting a few because they are for my open house.  This one was made for someone at work who just had surgery.  I colored the chicken in with Stampin' Up! Colored Pencils.  I'm so glad they're back!!  Please let me know what your favorite Sale-a-Bration item is!  Mine is a toss up between the chick and the ice cream truck.  Thanks for stopping by!  Please go and check out the new catalogs by clicking below.
