Come Sail Away!

The new Stampin' Up! 2019-20 catalog is almost here!  I was able to place a preorder as a demonstrator, and I just had to have the Sail Away bundle!  I live in New England, and the ocean is my favorite place to be.  This set has sailboats, a lighthouse, anchor and rope, and a few more items.  The dsp is amazing as well.

Here are two cards using the suite.  I used Night of Navy as a base for both, and the pretty blue panel is made from a new In Color called Seaside Spray.  It's cut with dies from the Free As A Bird bundle.  Don't you just love the stitched shape?!  I will be using this a lot.  I stamped the seagulls, boats and lighthouse with Night of Navy as well.  I colored the boats with Stampin' Blends in Real Red and Old Olive.  You could easily use Blender pens with the inks as well.  The first card has a piece of rope beneath the sentiment stamped on Old Olive & cut with the Classic Label Punch. The next card is using a retired sentiment on Crumb Cake and I used one of the awesome embellishments with Linen Thread tied through it.  You could make this into a get well, thanks, happy birthday, congrats, graduation, etc.

Another option is the Come Sail Away Memories and More kit.  It has some great prints, amazing laser cut papers, and cards for scrapbooking or easy card making!  These are so popular and sell out fast, so be ready to order on June 4!  Check them out in the video below.

If you do not have a catalog and you are not working with another demonstrator, please message me and I'll be happy to send one out to you.  This is one you don't want to miss!  Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Stampin'!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day, friends!  Here is one of the cards I made for my husband's godmother/aunt. The photo doesn't show it well, but the white was embossed with the Subtle embossing folder. I wanted it to look like textured wallpaper.  If you run this both ways through the big shot, it looks like linen.  Such a nice way to add texture!

The Tea Together bundle was used to create the cup.  This will be available in the new catalog starting June 4.  I used  the Stitched Labels framlits for the sentiment, Stampin' Blends for coloring, Balmy Blue for a base (LOVE this color), and the Gingham dsp from the Occasions catalog.  This is only available for a short time so don't hesitate!  Just click on the photo to shop.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Let it Ride!!

I can finally post this card. I made it for my sister-in-law's birthday, using the Let It Ride set.  I knew I had to have this as soon as I saw it in the catalog.  You can create a scene with the horse or simply just use one like I have here.  I really love the sayings in this set.  The inside said, "Live as Someone Let the Gate Open."  This is so appropriate for my sister-in-law as she has animals and does leave the gate open occasionally!

Recipe:  I started with a base of Balmy Blue, added a panel of Wood Textures dsp (3-7/8 x 5-1/8), stamped the sentiment on whisper white and trimmed to fit.  Then I stamped the horse on whisper white and die cut it with a Layered Ovals die (largest, I believe).  I started coloring in with blends.  The colors I believe I used were:  Crumb Cake light and dark, Light Soft Suede, Bronze (just a bit to redden him up a bit).  The grass is Granny Apple Green light and dark and I used a color lifter to blend it.  Then I decided the sky was too plain.  I started coloring with light Balmy Blue and it seemed too dark.  I went over it with the color lifter in a circular motion and tried to create white cloud spots  I think it came out okay. What do you think?  You should give it a try.  I love playing with my Blender Pens!  I forgot to mention, before mounting my oval, I took some Linen Thread and wrapped it around my fingers.  Then I added a few glue dots where the oval would be mounted.  I stuck a few ends down to hold it.  The final step was putting Stampin' Dimensionals on my oval and sticking it down!  Please let me know what you think.  I love reading your comments!

You can find Let It Ride, or any other products used, it in my store here (click on horses):
