Happy Birthday, Paper Pumpkin!

Paper Pumpkin turned 6 and celebrated by giving us a free stamp set (the dotted numbers)! In case you don't know about Paper Pumpkin, it's a monthly subscription and costs about $20.  It's a surprise every month.  The kit always includes a stamp set, ink, and supplies to make whatever project they send.  You can skip or cancel at any time before the 10th of each  month. It's so much fun getting that cute box in the mail!  This one was a birthday kit which contained 8 cards with cute pop up insides.  I made a few alternatives by adding product I had on hand. Don't you just love the fun colors?  They are:  Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Poppy Parade, Smoky Slate.  Paper Pumpkin puts up a video every month showing how to put the kit together.

You can also subscribe by placing an order through Stampin' Up! for a prepaid subscription (1, 3, 6, or 12 months).  The more you purchase, the more you save.  Check out the options here:

If you purchase a prepaid subscription of 3 or more months before March 31, you will be eligible for a FREE item out of the Sale-a-Bration catalog!  Any purchase of $50 or more qualifies you.  Check out the items you can choose from here:

Here are my cards.  The first is a kit card with the "th" added.  I used Well Said framelits for the middle along with Stitched Ovals and a strip of Real Red from my stash.  The right used the Balloon Bouquet punch, the Story Label punch (limited time only - don't wait to purchase!), and a Layered Oval in Real Red.  And I added some strings with white twine from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit.

Life's too short...

Hi Stampers!  I could never say no to cake, can you?!  I created this card with Happiness Blooms designer series paper and the Amazing Life stamp set.  This paper is so pretty and bold!  I got the idea from a stamper in my big group, Renee Chambers.  Her card used the paper and a rectangle with this fun fold, and she used a different stamp set.

A quick tutorial:  Start with a Real Red base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2"), scored at 4-1/4", and then at 2-1/8".  You fold the card in half, then fold the panel back.  Add a piece of dsp which is 4 x 1-7/8".  Stamp your cake in the lower right corner on whisper white, and your sentiment to the left so that it is not shown under the scalloped circle sentiment in Pineapple Punch.  Color the cake in with Pineapple Punch Stampin' Blends. Stamp your sentiment and cut with a layering circle, add the scalloped circle in Pineapple Punch and adhere.  Then adhere half of the circle to the panel of dsp.  I added a few of the little dot trios for accents.  You could also use embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by.  I'd truly love it if you would take a moment to leave me a comment!

Crop weekend in Maine

I wanted to pop in and share a few photos from my weekend in Maine with the girls.  We had a blast!  The area is so beautiful, even with snow.  We had snow while we were there and the ocean was incredibly rough.  We drove up to Nubble Light, one of the most photographed light houses in Maine.

I didn't get a huge amount done (20 or so cards), but I had a great time with great friends.  We laughed a lot!  Girlfriend time is great for the soul.

I finished most of my Paper Pumpkin kit.  Here are some alternatives:
