With Sincere Sympathy

There is nothing worse than making a sympathy card.  It's so hard to figure out what to use and what to say.  I wanted to add to my stash so I have them ready. I cased a card on page 40 of the annual catalog.  I didn't want to use bright yellow for a sympathy.  I reached for the Smoky Slate, stamped the texture from Season of Chic, then embossed with the Distressed Tile embossing folder.  I just love the look that folder gives!  I even decorated the inside with one of the flowers.

I needed to brighten it up a bit, so I chose Bubble Bath and Moody Mauve for the flowers, and Soft Seafoam for the leaves. I don't have much of a current ribbon stash, so I chose Balmy Blue and White Variegated ribbon to tuck in the background.

For the sentiment, I wanted to use a bundle called Heartfelt Hexagon.  I love the sayings and shape. This was popped up and placed on top of the flowers and leaves.  I'd love to hear what your go to color is for sympathy cards.

You can shop for the products I used in my store below.  If you decide you HAVE to buy the Heartfelt Hexagon bundle, I'd be happy to send a free card kit to recreate this.  If it's not for you but you spend $50 or more, I will send the sentiment piece without the greeting and you can add whatever sentiment you have on hand.  Stampin' Up! doesn't allow us to send stamped pieces in our kits.

Delightful Floral

This Delightful Floral designer series paper was a special release and can be found in the Online Exclusives section of the Stampin' Up! store.  I've linked it below. It coordinates with the Translucent Floral stamp set.  Isn't it pretty?  I love the colors (Pretty Peacock, Parakeet Party, Berry Burst, Lemon Lolly and a few others).  I stamped the flowers on vellum, die cut them, and put them on a Countryside Inn label.  I adhered a piece of dsp, card stock in Berry Burst, then took the other side of the dsp and embossed with the Quattrefoil embossing folder.

Just my type?

I loved this typewriter stamp set as soon as I saw it.  It's so fun!  I need to experiment with a few more colors.  What color would you make it?  The stamp set is called Just My Type.

First I made it in Boho Blue after someone challenged me on Instagram.  I paired it with the Countryside Inn designer series paper, Deckled Circles, and Exposed Brick embossing folder.

Then I was challenged with Pebbled Path.  This was paired with Coastal Cabana designer series paper.

Here is the latest in Azure Afternoon.

Which is your favorite?  Aqua/teal is one of my favorite colors, so I prefer the Coastal Cabana card even though the typewriter is Pebble Path.

Here are some of the products used in case you'd like to purchase any of them.  You can also click on the shell to the right to shop in my store.  I send out a handmade card and a package of embellishments for every order $50 or more.  If you have a question about any of the products or cards, just leave a comment.  Happy to help!

Sending hugs

It's been a while!  Time has really gotten away from me lately. I created this card using this using the Layering Leaves bundle.  The sentiments are so beautiful!  We used this template called a Sheetload of Cards by Crafty Al (#slctJuly23) for my team challenge.  I started with a base of Boho Blue, and used the Countryside Inn designer series paper.  It has some pretty patterns!  I cut the sentiment out with the Nested Essentials dies, stamped the leaves and punched out, then tied with white baker's twine.  The embellishments are the Festive Pearls.  They are actually a bit on the green side, but look blue or Pool Party when paired with the dsp.

DSP Sale

Did you know some designer series paper is on sale for 15% off until June 30?  I used the Inked Botanicals paper with the Quiet Meadow bundle since I didn't have the Inked Botanicals bundle.  I think the flower looks pretty similar.  This paper is so soft and pretty!

I started with a Basic White base and layered two panels of the dsp.  I then cut the rectangle from the Scalloped Contour dies, and several flowers from the Quiet Meadow dies.  I used Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry.  The background was sponged with Lost Lagoon (another color listed in the dsp).  I finished with a sentiment label in Calypso Coral and a few dots from the Ombre Matte Decorative Dots.

Zesty!

I made this as part of a fun challenge on Paper Craft Challenge #PCC521.  I cased the catty with a twist (page 32).

I used the Sweet Citrus bundle and used a base of Tahitian Tide.  Love this color, but I don't choose it much.  The embossed panel is in Lemon Lime Twist.  I brushed my fruit with a Wink of Stella pen so it looks wet.  The final touch was the piece of the Black & White Gingham Check ribbon and Black Matte Dots.  Let me know what you think!

Cheerful Daisies

It's been a while since I've been able to stamp!  Life gets in the way sometimes. I did manage to squeeze a few cards in over the weekend though.  I'm in love with the Cheerful Daisies suite!  These two are for my team sketch challenge.  The sketch is from Mary Fish at Stampin' Pretty.

I've done opposites here.  The first is on a Basic White card base with Bubble Bath card stock and sentiment label.  The second is on a Bubble Bath base with a piece of designer series paper in Moody Mauve and a white sentiment label stamped in Moody Mauve.  Let me know which one you prefer!
