Paper Pumpkin Starter Kit

After seeing some sneak peeks at the cute February and March Paper Pumpkin kits, I decided to sign up.  I received my starter kit and went to work.

I decided to change the designs a little because I wanted a couple of different cards.  I needed a couple of thank yous and also a best wishes for someone who is leaving work.  She is young and colorful so I thought this would work.

I just wanted to show you that you can change the designs a bit and also step it up some, if you'd like.  I added twine to the button, changed the card color, changed buttons, changed the sentiment and added a piece of doily.  I changed it completely for the best wishes card.  I made a mistake on one of the yellow polka dot backgrounds so I cut it up into banners and went from there.  I also made an envelope insert with my Thinlits Envelope Liner.  These cards can be whipped up in a short time!

I hope you like what I created with this Paper Pumpkin kit!  I now understand why they always start you with this kit.  It comes with a D clear block.  It's a really nice block!  This is $8.50 in the catalog (item 118485 on page 196).  If you are interested in signing up for Paper Pumpkin, please check it out below and choose me, Michelle Quinno, as your demonstrator.  Thanks!  Oh, did I mention the free marker set worth $14.95 through March 31st?

PPA 191

This is what I came up with for Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge 191. Yikes, this was a tough one!  The first thing I thought of was St. Patrick's Day.  I wasn't even sure if I wanted to make one of those this year.  I typically make one for my mom and one for my good friend in MI.  I just wasn't in the mood!

Anyway, I  didn't have enough Gumball Green to make anything so I used Wild Wasabi.  The only reason I thought of it was because there was a little scrap of this dsp sitting on my desk.  I saw the green and orange and went with it.  I will give this to my youngest who will be turning 24 on Saturday.  The inside will say, Go Wild!  I don't need to tell him this, however.

I just placed an order and added Gumball Green cardstock and ink pad.  I love that color!  Can't wait to get my big box of goodies.  I got a lot of free items in the Sale-a-bration catalog!  You should check it out!

PPA 190

I made this for Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge 190.  I think I prefer sketch challenges but the color challenges do make me think outside the box sometimes.  I needed a sympathy card so I pulled out the colors and went to work.  I embossed the Gifts of Kindness stamp, but it's hard to see in the picture so I posted another at an angle.

I swear I never have enough sympathy cards.  Every time I make a small stash, I need to send out several at once.  I need to sit down some day and make ten!

Anyway, thanks for looking and commenting. I hope you will come and play along with us!

Baby congrats

I just sent this to my cousin who had her second son.  I used some dsp that has been around for a while.  I love this stamp set for baby cards and kids birthdays!   It's called Zoo Babies.  I used Deco Labels to cut it out and Bitty Banners for the sentiment.  I seem to have trouble making a card without these. Thanks for looking & commenting!

Thinking of you

I made this for someone at work who has been very sick and stuck in the house for months.  I hope it cheers her up a bit!  I didn't think I would like the Baked Brown Sugar cardstock but I'm using it more and more!

PPA 186 - Color Challenge

I made this for Pals Paper Arts Challenge #186.  It's for my son and daughter-in-law's first anniversary coming up.  I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Express Yourself, which is a hostess set.  I love my sentiment stamps!  I cut these banners myself but there is an easier way!  The Occasions Catalog has a set of banner dies (product #132173) and stamps to match.  See page 27 of the Occasions Catalog in my previous post.  If you order both, you save 15%!

We just had a big snow storm and ended up with two extra days off!  I was so happy to get the first text on Thursday at 6:25 a.m.  I was getting in the shower late after dragging my feet, hoping for no school.  I was even more excited to get the second text in the afternoon saying that we had no work today either!  I thought I would stamp today but ended up cleaning and grocery shopping late afternoon.  The roads were not great.  I hope it warms up soon.  It's been incredibly cold with the wind chill factor!  The temp today was 7 at one point.  Not sure how low it is now, but I thank God I don't live in Wisconsin!  I read about temps of -55 degrees!  I couldn't take that.  I think I would just hibernate.

PPA 185 Challenge

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas!  Mine was great!  I spent a lot of time with my granddaughter and that was the best part.  Three is a great age for Christmas.  She told me Santa was coming and leaving presents under the tree.  Her eyes popped out of her head when she got to my house to open gifts!  We enjoyed every minute.

Here is my card for Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge 185.  I needed a quick thank you to send to someone at work who gave me a nice mall gift card.  I used some older Stampin' Up! designer papers, Simply Sketched stamp set (hostess set), Framelits Deco Labels (item 130102), candy dots ( and Pool Party ribbon seam binding.  By the way, I started out with the image and ribbon on the other side like the sketch, but I made a mistake inking the image so I had to move it over!  Thank you for looking and leaving a comment. Play along with us if you haven't already!

PPA 184 Challenge

This is my second attempt at this sketch challenge for Pals Paper Arts 184.  The first one came out okay but it was so similar to my previous snowflake cards, I decided to make another.  I have to admit, anything with a diagonal line scares me.  I managed to finish though.  (please pardon the date/photo)

I had no choice but to make another Christmas card.  I needed a few more for my coworkers.  I used some old papers from American Crafts, I believe.  I just don't have enough SU designer papers yet, but I plan to change that!   Thanks for looking and leaving a comment.  Please let me know if I can help you with any Stampin' Up! product orders!  You can click on my flower on the right to order 24/7.

I hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New Year!

Used:  Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake for a base, Endless Wishes and Warmth & Wonder sets.

Pals Paper Arts 183

I've hardly had any stamping time! I made this quick card early so that I would be ready for Pals Paper Arts Challenge 183, but I almost forgot to post!   I figured I would make another Christmas card to add to my small stash.  I'm not thrilled with it but it's done.l  I'm only going to be able to give homemade cards to my family and a few work friends because I've run out of time.

I'm so far behind with Christmas that we decided to get a fake tree for the first time in our married lives and that's a long time!!  I'm anxious to see how it looks out of the box.  We'll set up and decorate either tomorrow or Sunday.  We're supposed to get hit with 10-14 inches of snow tomorrow afternoon into Sunday so I'm not sure my son and his wife will be able to come over as planned.  I will be babysitting tomorrow morning for a few hours so I won't be getting any decorating done!  I'm not complaining though.  I love spending time with my granddaughter.  We will be making reindeer cookies!

Anyway, I used the Warmth & Wonder set and my new Framelits Deco Labels (130102).  You can't see it but the berries are dotted with Adirondack Dimensional Pearls. Thanks for looking and leaving a comment!

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge 182

I haven't had any time for stamping lately so I just squeezed this one in today.  We had a wake and funeral to go to this week and then my granddaughter came over Saturday and Sunday.  I can't resist spending all of my time with her.  She is a hoot!

I made this for Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge 182.  I cannot figure out why blogger is uploading this picture sideways.  It is the right orientation on my computer, but don't have time to try and fix it.  I loved the Smoky Slate with Elegant Eggplant, but the Very Vanilla threw me off.  I prefer Whisper White.  At least I managed to finish on time.  I used Warmth &Wonder and Endless Wishes.
UPDATE:  Finally fixed from my work computer.  Still have no idea what the issue is!
