PPA 209

I am on a red streak!  I've made five red cards in a row and it's not a color I use a lot of.  I started out making one for my niece who loves red, and I just kept going.  Do you associate colors with people?  I tend to think of a certain color when I think of the person.

Here are my cards for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge 209.  I like this sketch.  I have trouble doing things off center or askew, so this forced me into it!  I actually made the one using On Film framelits first. Then I thought it was too far from the sketch so I made another card very similar to the first.  I was coloring too fast and make the frosting red instead of Coastal but it didn't look too bad so I went with it.

I love these colors together and the dsp is one of my favorites stacks.  Unfortunately it is retired. I colored the white part of the cake with a Wink of Stella pen (white) and then made the candles sparkly with the clear.  You can't really see it in the picture though.

Thank you for leaving me comments to read!

PPA 208

I made this for the Pals Sketch Challenge #208.  I really like this sketch.  I almost made a masculine card, but I needed one for an online friend's birthday.  She is also an awesome customer!

I used some of the new dsp.  This one is called Moonlight. I don't know about you, but when I'm making a card, I tend to stamp a few colors and play around to see what I like best.  I have a pile of pieces that didn't make it.  I'm really trying to use some of them.  So.....I had the little flower stamped and punched out.  I pulled out the hexagon punch to make it pop.  I also colored in my candy dot with the new Blendabilities.  The color was just a little off so I colored it darker to match the Hello Honey dsp.

Thanks so much for your comments!   I really appreciate them.

p.s.  I always admit my mistakes so I must confess, as I was adding my products I realized that I goofed with the ribbon & hexagon shape.  They are Rich Razzleberry and the ink I used is the gorgeous new Blackberry Bliss!  I can see the difference but it's too late to remake it.  All I can say is thank God it wasn't a color challenge!  LOL  Does it look way off?

Another PL card

I've been short on crafting time so I have to make quick cards when I have a few minutes.  I pulled out my Project Life box again and found this "Happy" and the background print.  I trimmed the Happy a bit closer to the words and then added the birthday from the Endless Wishes Birthday set (did I already say how much I LOVE this set?!!).

This is for my niece and she loves pink!  These are some of my favorite colors:  Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, and Tangerine Tango.

I cut the flower out with the baby bundle.  I adore this set as well.  I colored the center in with the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities and added some Candy Dots.  I don't know if I can even make a card without these!

Please leave me a comment if you like it!  And if you want to purchase any of these great products, just click on the SHOP NOW flower to the right!

A Project Life Card

When I was trying to figure out what to make for the Pals Blog Hop the other night, I made this quick card.  I wanted to have a back up in case I really needed one!  I pulled out my Project Life cards and chose this one.  Then I stamped the sentiment, put ribbon and a few candy dots on, and I was good to go!  I think it took all of 5-10 minutes.  I will be saving this one for a July birthday.  I know someone who is not a girly girl but loves teal and yellow.

I was commenting about the thick layer of pollen in my house the other day.  I just wanted to show you what I meant.  I'm finding it everywhere!  I need to dust every little thing in my scrap room.  Ugh!

PPA 207

Here is my card for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge this week.  I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of red, white and blue.  I love the American flag, but not so much working with the colors on a card.

My cousin, who teases and jokes with everyone, is turning 50.  I had to put a few 50s on his card.  I did use the Midnight Muse because I had some cardstock, but it has retired.  I also had some ribbon from a blog candy win (thank you, Wendy Klein!). I didn't have the stamp pad so I used the Stampin' Write Marker.

Thanks for your comments!  I truly appreciate them.

June Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the June Pals Blog Hop. This month we are excited to show off new Stampin' Up! products from the just released 2014-15 annual catalog and idea book. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects. Get your wish list ready!
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Patti MacLeith #8 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
I usually make my card a few days before, just in case i don't like it.  I didn't have any time to stamp until last night.  I ended up making two cards because I was afraid I would blank under pressure.  I can work under pressure at my job, but I don't do so well in cardmaking if I'm rushed.  I will wait to post the 5 minute card until tomorrow.  I'm having issues uploading my pictures!

Anyway, I kept it simple but used quite a few new things.  I went outside my comfort zone with the Blackberry Bliss which is one of the new In Colors.  I love the color, I just don't use purples.  I also used Hello Honey dsp and ribbon. The dsp is new and I love the patterns!  The stamp set is currently unavailable.  I hope they get it back.  I truly love it!  The font is fantastic!  I colored the cake in with my Blendabilities.  Thanks for looking and commenting!  I love reading them.
