Home to Roost

Hello!  I've never been a collector of roosters, but I love the way they look in a country kitchen.  When I saw this guy in the Sale-a-Bration catalog, I just had to have him!  He reminds me of my neighbor's rooster.  I hear him occasionally, and I'm thankful I don't live behind him!  I finally inked him up last night while trying to make some samples for an upcoming class.

I paired the rooster with the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions embossing folder and embellished with some Burlap ribbon.  I sponged Cajun Craze on the Crumb Cake Corrugated piece (say that three times fast!).

He was colored in with Stampin' Blends in Bermuda Bay, Cajun Craze, Mango Melody, Real Red, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede.  Then I die cut with the Stitched Shapes Thinlits.  I backed with a scalloped circle from the Layered Circles dies.

Here are some of the products used.  Just click on the images to order.  Don't forget to use my January host code for online orders $50 and over.  You will receive a free package of embellishments from me.  The code is:  BMVRMPYM

This is FREE in the Sale-a-Bration catalog with an order of $50 or more!!

Butterflies everywhere!

I am in love with the two butterfly sets from the Occasions catalog!  The Beauty Abounds bundle is what I used on the card below.  I was making it for a friend who loves blue and purple.  I chose Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, and added in some Granny Apple Green.  I made up my own dsp background with the bubbles and splashes in this beautiful set.  The ribbon is from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  Yes, I got it FREE!!  You can too.  If you place an order of $50 or more, you can choose the beautiful organdy ribbon for free.  I love the springy colors in this set.  The dies nest on top of one another.  For the sentiment, I chose the Stitched Labels Framelits.  Please let me know what you think!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

HNY, SAB, etc.

Happy New Year!  Hope everyone had a nice holiday season.  I enjoyed spending mine with family, but I ended up getting pneumonia.  That put a damper on my vacation.  I thought I was feeling a bit better, so I dragged myself out for an early New Year's Eve dinner, and instantly regretted it.  We always go for hibachi.  As soon as we sat down, I started coughing and could not stop.  I think it was the smoke from the grill.  I didn't enjoy my meal and I don't think the other poor people at our table did either.  Oh well, onto better days!!  Tell me what you did during the holidays!  Hope you had fun.

I am very late in posting that the Sale-a-bration and Occasions catalogs are now in full swing!  In case you're not familiar, these are Stampin' Up!'s spring catalogs.  From January 3 through March 31, you can place a qualifying order from the Occasions or Annual catalogs and receive a FREE item from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  They have some adorable items this year!  There is no limit on the number of items you can earn, but there are several ways to take advantage of Sale-a-bration.

The first is easy.  Place an order of $50 or more, receive a FREE item(s) from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  Click on the graphics above.

Second, get your friends together and start a workshop (contact me so I can set it up).  If your party reaches $150 or more, you will not only receive free items from the Sale-a-bration catalog, but you will also receive Stampin' Rewards (free money to spend!!!).  If you reach $250, you will double that by receiving a free $25 to spend!!  The more your party totals, the more Stampin' Rewards you will receive.

The third and BEST way to take advantage of Sale-a-bration is to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  You will receive $175 of product for $99 (or $129 with the fabulous exclusive tote - see video below) with no further obligation (no sales, parties, nothing).  You can simply use your discount for yourself, or you can choose to have fun with it and make some money!  You will not pay shipping on the starter kit.  You will not earn Sale-a-bration items, but you can place an order with your discount and get all of the goodies you want once you're signed up.  Just click on the graphic below to check out the details, or give me a call if you have questions.  I'd love to have you on my team!

I had a stray tree on my desk for quite some time.  I finally decided to put it to good use! When I received my Rooted in Nature stamp set, I played around using daubers trying to blend different colors (Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide).  The next level back was using Tranquil Tide, and the back tree was Tranquil Tide stamped off once.  The tree trunks were inked with Early Espresso.  I die cut my panel of whisper white with the Blended Seasons (no longer available) shape and then did the same with a piece of Wood Textures dsp.  The pieces were mounted on a Mint Macaron base embossed with the Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The sentiment is from a Paper Pumpkin kit.  I tied some baker's twine from Share What You Love embellishments.  Twine is my favorite embellishment!  What is yours?  Is it ribbon, buttons, rhinestones, enamel shapes?
