PPA311

I love the soft and pretty color combination by the talented Lynn Hoyt!  This is for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge.  I think it could be used for just about anything - baby, sympathy, birthday, get well, etc. I decided to make a thank you.  I used the beautiful new set called Thoughtful Branches which is only available from August 2-31, while supplies last.  I just had to have it!

I have to be honest...I had some glue smeared on my paper from when I put the hydrangea down.  I almost started over but saw someone on Pinterest who had cut flowers out and popped them.  That's what I chose to do and it did make the glue disappear!  I also added Wink of Stella pen to the flower.  The rest was easy. I used an Aqua Painter to watercolor some Marina Mist on the background.  I used Whisper White cardstock.  I decided to keep the embellishments on the sentiment piece.  I used a bit of Smoky Slate baker's twine and a heart from a retired punch in Marina Mist.  Easy peasy!  Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think!

PPA310

This fun sketch for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge is by Maggie Mata   I couldn't help playing twice!  I've been wanting to come up with an alternative Paper Pumpkin for the June kit so I started by cutting the striped base and mounted it on Peek-a-boo Peach.   I added a circle in Peek-a-boo Peach envelope paper. Next, I stamped a circle from the kit and then stamped Happy on the Peek-a-Boo Peach.  The last circle is stamped on Sahara Sand and popped with Stampin' Dimensionals.    I then added a bunch of sequins from the Paper Pumpkin kit.

For my second card, I started by embossing the Soft Sky base with Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then cut circles out of By the Shore dsp.   I am waiting for the Seaside Shore stamp set to come in, so I improvised by cutting out one of the fish on the dsp. The sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes kit.  Love that font!  Thanks for stopping by!  Please let me know what you think.

Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Christmas

Here is my submission for the Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Christmas in July challenge.  I enjoyed making a Christmas card in July!  I need to get a move on for my Christmas cards, and this has put me in the mood.

I kept it simple by stamping the Wonderous Wreath in Old Olive.  I rotated it slightly and stamped again with the remaining ink on the stamp, then I took Mossy Meadow and stamped the second step of leaves.  The third step was the berries in Cherry Cobbler.  I dotted them with Wink of Stella clear pen.  I inked up the Brick Wall embossing folder with some Mossy Meadow, put a piece of Cherry Cobbler in the folder and ran it through the Big Shot. Then I mounted it on Gold Foil on a Mossy Meadow card base. I cut the Noel out of Gold Foil sheets, wrapped Gold Thread around the wreath, and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added a few metallic enamel shapes and the bow. Thanks for stopping by.  Please go over to Scrap-Creations and check out all of the wonderful entries, or better yet, join us in the challenge!

PPA309

Such a gorgeous color combination from the talented Katy McGloin!!  I had a little bit of trouble getting started and then thought of my Sprinkles of Life set.  I was going to make a black raspberry ice cream cone but ended up making a cupcake.  I used Thoughtful Banners for the sentiment on the first card.  The dsp is actually envelope paper in Sweet Sugarplum.  I tied the Rouched Ribbon with some Island Indigo Bakers Twine from a Paper Pumpkin kit.  I added a touch of Clear Wink of Stella on the flames after coloring in with Copics.  And you know me, I ended up making another card to see if I liked it any better.   On the second, I used Birthday Blossoms and the Pansy Punch.  It is mounted on two layers of doilies.  The sentiment is from Balloon Celebration, and I finished it off with a few enamel shapes.

Please let me know which one you like best.  Thanks for stopping by!
