Sweet Strawberries for Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Pretty Pals' Blog Hop!  This month, the theme is "Wonderful Cards/Projects from the Garden" where our design team shocase projects from things found in a garden, such as flowers, vegetables, fruits, or even a garden scene.  We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them!  as you hop from blog to blog, don't forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you.  Once you finish here, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you "hop" along from Pal to Pal.

Every time I think of strawberries, I chuckle at the way my son used to pronounce them.  He would ask for bob-ninnies.  He loved strawberry milk too (Bobninny milk).  He is now 31 and knows how to say it the right way.  LOL  Great memories!

I used the Sweet Strawberry bundle for my cards.  I started out with a base of Poppy Parade and a piece of Pattern Party paper (2-1/4" x 5-1/2") and matted that on Granny Apple Green (2-1/2" x 5-1/2").  Then I stamped the strawberries in Poppy Parade (outline) and Flirty Flamingo.  I daubered a few with Daffodil Delight just for a shade of color.  The stems were done in Garden Green (outline) and Granny Apple Green.  The flowers were done in Crushed Curry (outline) and Daffodil Delight.  They were all punched with the Strawberry Builder Punch.  I used Hippos & Friends dies for the sentiment.  I popped up a few strawberries for dimension.

I had a few extra pieces as I always do, so I decided to try a Basic White base to see how it looked.  Let me know which is your favorite!

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team, because the Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on August 11th. Our theme will be “My Happiest Season” when our Design Team creates a project showcase projects inspired by their favorite season of the year. Until then, have fun in your craft space.

Pierced Blooms

I really love the Pierced Blooms Dies and the Stitched Greenery Die.  The Stitched Greenery is like an embossing folder, but it's a die!  I love the dimension it adds.

For my first, I used the Stitched Greenery on Granny Apple Green cardstock and matted with Basic Black.  Then I added flowers in Bermuda Bay and Magenta Madness.  There is a strip of Pattern Party behind the panel (1-3/4" x 5-1/2").  I embellished with Basic Rhinestones. I chose a sentiment from Peaceful Moments for the first.

The second piece of Stitched Greenery was in Basic White.  I used the Blending Brushes with Granny Apple Green to add some color.  I wanted to use leaves in Granny Apple, so I went very light on the blending.  That was matted in Basic Black and another piece of Pattern Party was adhered to the Basic White Cardstock. I used a sentiment from Happy Thoughts which has retired, but you could use just about any sentiment on this card.  Let me know which you like better.  I'd love to hear your opinions!
