PPA 261

Another quick post here!  I just got back from vacation this weekend and realized I forgot to make a card for my grand nephew.  I quickly pulled out a Paper Pumpkin kit and went to work.  I used this cute Pals Paper Arts Sketch.  I hope you'll come over and join us in this challenge!

p.s.  I love comments!

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Got my July 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit and was practically jumping with  joy!  I love the cute stamp set.  I always need a get well card and can't ever seem to find that sentiment.  Also, succulents are so on trend right now!

Anyway, I quickly made the project card (first one) and proceeded to make two more alternative cards.  The first is the kit card.  For the second card, I added Cucumber Crush cardstock  & ink to bring out the tea bag color.  The second was put on an Early Espresso base with a strip of Cucumber Crush and a few Candy Dots.  Thanks for looking!

If you don't know what Paper Pumpkin is, it is a monthly subscription, there is also a prepaid option. You get this cute little orange/red box in the mail with cute crafty projects in it.  You never know what you're going to get (like Forrest Gump).   I haven't been disappointed yet!  Your first kit will contain a clear block.  They all contain an ink spot or two, a cute stamp set, glue dots, dimensionals, envelopes, adorable little embellishments, etc.

Check out the video here:  Paper Pumpkin July 2015

And click here:  PAPER PUMPKIN if you'd like to try it out.  With the monthly subscription, you have the option of cancelling any time before the 10th of the month.

If you'e never tried Paper Pumpkin, now is a great time!  Get 50% off your first two months between July 23 and September 10, 2015.  Use the code HALFOFF in the coupon code box.  This is for new subscribers only!

PPA 259

As much as I love it, I had no idea what to do with this combination for the  Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.  I looked at my list of cards to make and saw that I needed a graduation one for my grand niece.  Her school colors are royal blue and red but I decided to go for it anyway!

I created a simple mortar board with squares, popped it up and put a candy dot and a tassel from Celebrate Today (kicking myself - looks like it shifted).  I cut the happy using brushed silver cardstock and thinlit word from Hello You.  I popped up the letters that hang over (as you can see a tiny bit on the Y).   I decided to emboss the Pacific Blue panel with the Lucky Stars embossing folder and mount on thick Whisper White cardstock.  The sentiment was heat embossed with silver and then cut with the Banner Triple punch.  I seem to use that for everything!  The little star came from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  I am obsessed with putting every last piece of paper to use so I punch out stars or flowers before tossing scraps.  Am I the only one who does this?

One more ice cream!

Here is my last (for now) ice cream cone card.  I used the scallop topper punch to create a tag, and threaded the Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace through the tag.  I cut the lace in half so that it wasn't so bulky through the tag.  This lace is so soft and easy to work with!

Let me know which one was your favorite. (You'll need to scroll back a few posts!)

PPA 258

I created this for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.   This combination is in my comfort zone.  I truly love bright colors, especially paired with Night of Navy!  I never used to use Navy, but it has become a favorite.  I think this combination would make a pretty flower card, but I really needed some birthday cards for younger folks.  I might try another if I get some time this week!

I just wanted to share that I was so sad about Strawberry Slush going away and I thought I'd never get over it.  Watermelon Wonder is my new bff!!

A masculine ice cream cone

I warned you that I would have a few ice cream cards coming up!  This is my male version of the last one I posted.  It's for a high school freshman so I didn't want any frills.

As I mentioned, this Stampin' Up! set called Sprinkles of Life is so much fun!  You can make cupcakes, clouds, ice cream, etc.  I started on ice cream cones and had so much fun that I kept going.

In case you didn't read my previous post, this set is awesome but even more so because Stampin' Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House for each set purchased!

Ice Creams everywhere...

I have a big list of birthday cards I need for July and August, so I decided to break out the Sprinkles with Life set.  I think this one will be for my granddaughter who is turning five.  I still can't believe that!!   I am in love with the Sprinkles of Life set!  When combined with the tree punch, it can be used for so many things!  Stampin' Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House for each purchase. What a great cause!

Just a warning -- I will probably be posting a few cupcake ICE CREAM cards over the next week or so.  Once I got going, I couldn't stop! ( I just noticed that I kept referring to the ice creams as cupcakes!  Must have had a bad day! LOL)

Can I just confess to a little ooopsie?  I thought Island Indigo was in the Cherry on Top dsp, not Bermuda Bay.  I used the wrong cs, but I think it works okay.  Let me know what you think!

PPA 256

This cute sketch was an easy one.  I've been loving my banner triple punch so I was happy to use it again! Even though my banners were thinner than the punch grooves (1, 1 1/2 and 2 inch), it worked just fine.  I just flipped it upside down and made sure the strip of paper was even on both sides.  I also got the chance to use a bunch of new items which always makes me happy!  Tell me what your favorite new item is.  I know it's hard to choose.

Alternative Paper Pumpkin

I just got my June Paper Pumpkin in the mail today and love it!  The stamp set is super cute!  I didn't make the kit as directed yet.  I sat down and came up with this one so I wouldn't spoil it for those who haven't received theirs. I won't tell you what was part of the Paper Pumpkin except the Bermuda Bay base.  I even made an envelope to match.

This is a get well/lift type of card for a 12 year old girl.  When I finished, I thought it seemed a little old, but I am curious to see what you think.

If you are interested in purchasing a cute monthly kit, just click here.  There are many options available:  on a monthly basis (you can skip or cancel any time before the 10th of the month); or you can prepay for 1, 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions.  The prepaid subscriptions can be added to an order.  Click here:

PPA 255

Love this gorgeous combination for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge 255!  I enjoy making masculine cards.  I know I'm in the minority!

I used By the Tide for this one.  I started with a Hardwood background, cut the Marina Mist with a circle, stamped the seaweed, cut the Early Espresso twice and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Then I stamped the fish in Marina Mist on Whisper White.  I used an Aqua Painter to pick up some color from the Sahara Sand ink pad and did some areas a little darker for shading.  The sentiment is from a new set, Happy Happenings.  I cut it out with the Project Life labels framelits.  It's hard to see but the fish eye is glossy from Crystal Effects.

PPA 254

I made this for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.  I love this combination of colors!  As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to use my brand new Sprinkles of Life RMHC stamp set.  When you buy this set, Stampin' Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  What a great cause!  Not only that, but it's an adorable set. This is in the new catalog which starts June 2.  The punch which coordinates with the set is the Tree Builder Punch.

I also used the new banner triple punch which I love!  It can cut any length banner in three widths, 1", 1 1/2" and 2".  How versatile is that?!
