PPA 228

Don't forget your sunglasses!  This was an easy sketch for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge.  I chose one of my favorite stamp sets, Endless Wishes Birthday.  I used Blendabilities to color in the cake.  I pulled out the Sweet Sorbet dsp.  This is a BUSY pattern, but I love the colors (Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight).  I thought the white cake panel would cut down on that.  I then decided it was too white and added the dots from the Endless Wishes set.  After stamping the sentiment,  I cut out a couple of stars with the Itty Bitty Punch pack and then I added some sparkle with my Wink of Stella pen.  You probably can't see the sparkle too well.  I do love these pens!  Anyway, thanks so much for your comments!  I hope I am back to crafting by the time this is posted.  I scheduled several out before I had surgery.

PPA 217

I needed a fairly quick birthday card that wasn 't too bulky for mailing.  I made this simple one with Sweet Taffy dsp (#133693).  I really love this paper since it uses all of my favorite brights - Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry.

I used Melon Mambo for the base and Daffodil Delight for the panel.  I decided to use my Melon Mambo embossing powder with the Starburst Sayings stamp set & die, and then decided to add the Tempting Turquoise starburst and Daffodil Delight candy dots.  I still feel like I should have something beneath the starbursts but I usually try to stick with the sketch.  Thanks for looking and commenting!  I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!  I can't believe summer is over.  :-(

Endless Birthday Wishes

Sometimes I feel like my birthday card list is endless!   I don't often have time to sit and make a card just because.  I decided to whip out an easy one to get things moving.

This has to be one of my favorite stamp sets, Endless Wishes Birthday.  I used a designer series paper called Sweet Taffy.  Love the bright colors!  I used Melon Mambo cardstock.  For the image, I first cut out a strip with the Tag Topper Scallop punch.  Then I stamped the cake in Rich Razzleberry and the sentiment in Melon Mambo.  I dotted the cake with Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo, and colored in the cake plate with Pumpkin Pie.  I used the dots in the stamp set for the bottom of the tag.  I then added ribbon (retired) in Daffodil Delight and White Bakers Twine, and glued the Rich Razzleberry star with the Itty Bitty Accents punch.  Hope you like it!  Please leave me a comment if  you can.  Thanks!
