No sleep, hiatus and one more friggin candle...

I am so tired today. I went to bed at 10(very early) and the thunderstorm woke me up around 11:30. Got up again at 1:30 and then at 3:30. I could not sleep after that. I shut my alarm off before it went off at 6. Luckily I have a semi easy day.

I've been thinking of taking a hiatus from blogging. I just don't think it's worth my time. Let's face it, I'm not winning any competitions with my cards (and don't want to be), I'm not interested in being on any DTs even if I had the talent, I don't like making cards that require a box for shipping, etc. I truly enjoy making simple cards that my family and friends enjoy. I think I may spend more time actually stamping and scrapping if I just quit posting. I like to browse blogs and I'll probably continue to do so, but who knows. My granddaughter will be coming any time now and she'll be taking more time away too. I cannot wait to hold her and all the other fun things. I'll probably post when she's born and share a photo or two.

For now, here are two simple cards I made. The first is for my 10 yo. nephew Zach who is very young minded. The cute robot is from Lost in Paper Scraps.

I made this with a Bugaboo stamp (just love their images!!). Inside it says, "What's One More Friggin Candle?" This is for my good friend who turned 50 today. So glad she finally caught up to me! LOL

  1. Very nice :) I think it is fine to take a hiatus, you may come back to it or not. You do great work and could easily be on a design team. I always enjoying looking at your cards :) Happy scrapping!

  3. You have many good things to come and certainly deserve a hiatus.

It's good to keep your crafting to an enjoyable level....that's why we craft! You are a very talented card maker and it shows that you have a lot of fun with them.

    :) :) :)

  6. Michelle,
Give yourself a break! I gave up my blog and deleted it and not once did I wish I hadn't! Like you, I have limited crafting time and want to spend it actually working on projects.

  7. Hey Michelle,
It's been awhile since I visited, although I like keeping up on you on FB- Although I did have to smile seeing your two cards- I forgot how creative you are- I liked them both.

  8. Well, the cards as as creative and beautiful as always!

Second, your sleepless night sounds like some of mine. I swear, when I wake up 3-4 times per night or more, I never feel rested. It sucks, basically :)

Third, I just started back blogging, so I hate to hear that you might be taking a break. The good news is that you'll have more time to spend on cards and maybe scrapping too?! That's wonderful! I just started back scrapping too (my reading is suffering horribly, but that's ok!). Just promise us this - that you won't say you'll quit and never entertain the thought of picking it back up. You might feel like blogging in 2, or 4 or even 6 months from now. You KNOW you'll want to post lots of adorable baby pictures! :)

Hope you're having a great day!

  9. I love these cards Michelle! Your cards are always wonderful! I understand about how much work a blog takes and you make so many wonderful craft things and cards for everyone you care for. I will be watching for when you feel like coming back if you decide to take a break but make sure you let us know how things are going if you can!

  10. I like your cards VERY much... simple is better. I also like your idea of creating simply for the joy of it. I do hope you'll continue to share some of your work with us when you're ready. xoxo
