Random SWOD...

Just for you, Stacy! Hace calor! This means, "It is hot out." I'm not sure why calor is hot but caliente is also hot for spicy or food hot. Just thought I'd throw one out there since I thought of it on the way in! LOL

  1. Oh cool, this is awesome! Ok, I knew caliente was hot for spicy food, so calor is good to learn. And it's definitely hot down here :) Now I have to figure out how to pronounce these. I'm trying to use thefreedictionary.com for pronunciation. Found calor (boy, they roll their r's!) but haven't found hace yet.

Don't you know that my limited spanish with my severe southern accent is a HOOT!!!

  2. I am guessing this is Spanish word of the day? How cool! (Que chevere!)

Calor, at least in my dad's country, is usually referring to temperature/weather. Caliente is more describing food.

Hace is AH-say. The H is silent.
