I recently became a fan of my favorite radio station on Facebook. It's an independent station that plays the BEST music. They're called The River, 92.5. I love listening to up and coming new artists who aren't overplayed on other stations -Brett Dennon, Brandi Carlisle, Adele, Duffy, I could go on forever.
Anyway, got a message from one of the djs asking me what I wanted played for Fri. morning between 8 and 9:00. I requested Adele's, "Right as Rain" thinking it probably wouldn't make the list.
WELL, yesterday was a long time ago and I completely forgot about it. I'm driving in and I hear the dj announcing that she'll be playing requests soon and listed a couple including my request. She played mine first because she had a ton so it was just before 8 which was PERFECT. I got out of my car at about 8:04 so I would have missed it otherwise. So cool! It made my day!!
Have a great weekend!

A Nesties kerfuffle....
My old boss used to call a mistake or something that was messed up, a kerfuffle. Anyway, I attempted to use my new Nesties Label 8 last night on an image that I colored in. First off, this is my SECOND attempt. I colored one last week, same image, tried to cut and then emboss with my cuttlebug. The image moved and I had a messed up frame. Ugh....so last night I colored the image in again (not so great but anyway). I did the same exact thing but was extra careful and it did it again.
The problem is I forget the recipe so I was fudging it and I don't have my usual scraps for a shim. I ended up using a thin piece of cardboard which obviously didn't work.
Soooooo....I decide to cut the image out and cut the background using my new SU dp. Very simple, but most important....DONE!!! Thanks for looking.
(also used: SU sentiment & melon mambo cs, martha loopy punch, copics)

What I've been doing...
I didn't get any crafting done over the weekend. I was in a cooking mood and I made everything from brownies, two loaves of bread, mac & cheese, spaghetti and meatballs, a delish rice, and I can't remember what else. I don't know what got into me because my waistline surely didn't need all that.
And to answer a question from a comment by Stacy - no, my room is in the same condition as when we moved in. My stuff is still in a huge stack in the basement but I have temporarily taken over a little bit of the kitchen counter. I do move it out when I think I might have company!
Anyway, here is what I've been working on....
One thing I haven't found yet is my Crop-o-dile so you can see that my three-hole punching hasn't been so accurate around the holes. They'll be covered with rings and a bunch of ribbons so I'm hoping you won't see them anyway.

Your day to shine....
I decided to scrap the baby album for the night (pardon the pun) and stamp for a change. I used one of these images that I got from Digital-Inkco. I wish I had colored his shirt yellow. I didn't think about the yellow until I put it all together. There was some in the hat though. It's so hard to match the SU colors with what I have.
Anyway, it was fun coloring and playing. I used a piece of my new SU SAB dp, the newest in colors - Soft Suede, Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango. I had these two tabs from a chipboard album I bought so I covered them with a Bazzill mat (love those). It's a little plain but it is a guy card after all! Thanks for looking.

New views.....
I obviously have a new commute home and, while I'm missing my ponds on the way to and from work, I am enjoying a few new sights. I was sitting in traffic last night and saw this. The falls are so pretty behind that bridge and you can't really see them in the picture. It makes it a little easier to sit there and wait for the light! Just wanted to share since I didn't have anything craft-related to share.

Speaking of Gramma.....
My life has had it's ups and downs recently and I'm happy to say I have had one big relief today. It's issues I really don't want to post about specifically.
On a good but somewhat scary note, my son and his girlfriend will be having a baby in August. Yep, remember I said I'd have lots of scrapping in my future? Well, I figured I'd finally post to let those of you who are not on Facebook know. I wasn't even going to post there but then my son did. I have a lot of family on there as well so I had to shout it out! LOL I am slightly nervous about how they will deal with a baby financially and all that, but they're happy and so are we!
Let's just saying I'm thinking pink.....I've never had a little girl to dress up except my nieces. I'd really love that but on the other hand I know all about little boys and cherish my own two so that would be fine too. How about healthy? That's all we care about.
So....just call me Nana! LOL

To tread or not to tread....
Ok, I need some honest opinions here. We have these pretty wood stairs going up to the second floor and going down to the finished basement. They go up half way and then turn to the right the other half of the way.
My hubby thinks we should put stair treads on to help with noise and also to help with wear and tear. I hate to cover up the wood but I agree with him on the noise factor.
What do you think? Oh, and please excuse the box sitting in the front hall!

The hill....
Here are a few photos from the weekend storm. You can see the hill we have to come up to get home. The driveway is a decent sized hill too even though it doesn't look it here.
I spend a lot of time looking out this window, worrying about my son driving home on the hilly back roads.
If you click on the photos you can see the road and the driveway closer. Check my hubby out way down below on the second one. I always feel guilty being indoors where it's nice and warm while he's out there killing himself clearing that driveway!

Too sticky.....
I love to browse blogs and I have a ton set up on Google Reader. I like watching videos for special techniques, etc. I keep seeing stampers, some famous, some not, stamp and immediately flip over the piece and put adhesive on. 1) I usually wait a little to be sure it's dry; 2) they put a line of adhesive at the top and bottom of the piece of paper.
My question for any stampers or scrappers out there, don't you cover each edge with adhesive? Maybe that's why I go through my ATG tape so fast! I run a line right at the very edge of the paper, top and bottom and on both sides. I want to be sure that it's completely stuck. Is it me?!!
I cannot wait to get back into stamping/scrapping! I will have some serious scrapping in my future. Stay tuned.....

Bad blogger.....
I've been so bad with keeping up here. I have just been so busy around the house. When not unpacking or organizing, I've been baking. We had a family gathering at my house for New Year's Day so I did a ton of cooking for that. It was a lot of fun! I don't know why I always make way too much food! We've been eating leftovers for lunch and dinner.
New Year's Eve we decide to stay home and get take out Chinese - not a good idea. I called the order in around noon for a 5:30 pick up. They told me the earliest they could do was 7. I said fine. I got there just a tad early and it was crowded with people waiting for their orders and they did not look happy. Some had called the day before for a 6:00 pick up and it was about 7:00. One couple finally got their food around 7:45 and they stormed out swearing they'd never be back. I got mine right around 7:50. I was shocked to have a complete order and it tasted great so that's all that matters, right?!
I'm really not looking forward to going back to work after vacation. We got a lot done around the house but didn't do enough relaxing.
Hope you all had a nice New Year's Eve & Day!
