It's the first week of classes and it was really busy yesterday. Today I have two jobs because my co-worker is out. I'm sure it will be hectic and the rest of the week won't be much better. I may be MIA, but I'll be back next week for sure!
Just a quick question for you....do you let your gas tank get down to empty before filling up?
I thought of this on the way in. With my son sometimes taking my car, I don't realize I'm on empty until the car beeps at me. We try to go up to NH while shopping. The gas is cheaper there.
On my way home last night, my light/beep went off after I passed the expensive full serve gas station. I decided to wait until this morning since it's only a mile from my house. I even thought of going to the cheap place near work but I was afraid I wouldn't make it. I ended up paying the full serve price and stayed nice and toasty in the car!
Do you push it as far as you can? Or do you fill up when you're getting to a certain point?
I push it as far as I can! I keep hoping for the prices to go down. :)
ReplyDeleteI never let it get anywhere near empty. It's silly, I know, but I see no need to run out of gas. My dad told me, when he was teaching me to drive at the age of 15, that the stupidest thing I could ever do in a car is run out of gas. He said, there's lots of dumb and wrong things you can do while driving an automobile, but there's no excuse for running out of gas. I guess it's always stuck with me :) I fill up when it gets near 1/4 empty.
ReplyDeleteGreat question, hope your week goes well. Hang in there!!!
I try not to go below a quarter tank, but since I don't do a ton of driving (maybe a half tank's worth a week -- give or take?) I usually just fill up on my way home from work every Friday, regardless of where the needle is.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should ask...I ran out of gas for the first time ever. The bad thing is that it was in the parking lot at my nephews funeral service. I was babysitting my brothers other three children and then he called to tell me the services were going to be earlier. So of course I pushed it to get his kids there in time for the service. I was following my husband so I wasn't totally "alone" I will never take that chance again. I guess I just wanted the kids to not miss their brothers service and I knew I could have my husband pull over and take them in his car.Thank goodness for On-Star!!!
