I had a great mail/free gift day though! Got my package from Kimi in MD with ribbon swap & card-lift swap items. I got some really cute cards and gorgeous ribbons! I was so happy with the teal ribbon because I have a hard time finding teals and it's my favorite color. These are two swaps I was NOT disappointed in!
I made a quick graduation card and futzed around with some swap cards (putting a few insides & sentiments on). I'm giving these to a friend at work who gives me great salon products for free!! Her dh is a salesman & gets lots of samples. So she brought me root lift spray, hair spray and shampoo - a very upscale name that I won't mention in case someone is looking! LOL As if someone would be on MY blog!! hehe It's actually Goldwell. Nice products!! Anyway, I want to give her some cards since she's one that buys sets from me for gifts.
My question is, do you use salon products or regular products from your pharmacy or retail store? I used to buy salon products but use cheap shampoos in between. I love Redken 10 guts and 18 hairspray but now that I have the Goldwell products, I use these instead.
I have a few cheap shampoos that I buy - Fructis and Pantene. When my cousin is going to the beauty supply, she gets me Biolage (my fav). I wash my hair daily and don't condition (too greasy). So I typically switch off between the good and the good cheap. What do you do?
I use Paul Mitchell. I use to be a Nail Tech so I have a license and can get all my product cheap. I buy my DH Nioxin cause he thinks his hair will grow back using that. Goof Ball. He's BALD!!!!
ReplyDeleteI get the cheap stuff. My DH gets "Crew" from the salon, he will take in his empty bottle and they will refill for for half price.
ReplyDeleteI use cheap stuff. I can't see spending that much on shampoo. I'd rather spend the money on something more fun.
ReplyDeleteI alternate, I guess. Sometimes I like to splurge on a salon shampoo, other times I pick what smells nice. I just bought a citrus organic one at Sprouts and I love it. I don't use conditioner either, my hair is too fine and it looks icky if I use heavy conditioner or product.
ReplyDeleteI used to use Pantene, for years. Then one day my hair stylist asked me what I use on my hair (I get it colored regularly) and when I told her, she said please don't use Pantene, it will strip out your color. I knew you were using something like that, because your color is not lasting as long as it should. I thought she was fixing to do a hard sell on some salon products, but she said, if you don't want to buy the more expensive stuff, I'd rather you use the Suave color stuff, theirs is better than Pantene. I was floored!
ReplyDeleteI have 2 Target's near me and one has a bigger selection of hair care products. I've been able to find Matrix and Bioloage products in their for my color-treated hair, so I've been buying that lately. They used to handle Redken and Pureology (my favorite), but don't anymore. I've ordered Pureology stuff online, but have bought enough Biolage to last me a couple of months.
Great question!
